For Civil Department 
Civil Simplified Winter Training cum Internship Program helps you learn technical skills through hands-on funfilled learning activities. The program is designed to take the participants through the technical concepts involved in Civil Engineering. The program involves the theoretical sessions, problem solving sessions, design sessions and case studies. Each project involves design, development, testing and an online examination at the end.
The courses are developed by Civil Engineering Alumni of IIT Kanpur

Highlights of the program:

  • There will be a 3hrs session each day for each program
  • Each session may be an interactive theory class or solving case studies or hands-on practical session on CAD based software
  • Complete course will start from basics so we neither expect in depth knowledge in Civil Engineering nor familiarity with any software
  • Daily based assignments and group discussions
  • Summer Training & Internship Certificate to all those who successfully complete the program
  • Placement preparation tips and career guidance from IIT Alumni

Course Content for Structures:

  • Introduction to Structural Engineering
  • Analysis of different types of structural elements
  • Static analysis and Dynamic analysis of buildings
  • Load calculations for Dead, Live, Earthquake & Wind according to IS Codes
  • Theory of vertical load resisting systems and horizontal load resisting systems
  • Types of existing bridges and bridge design techniques
  • Structural response to different types of moving loads

Course Content for GIS:

  • Introduction to Geographical Information System
  • Types of data collection and its interpretation
  • Concepts of land surveying, GPS, Photogrammetry and Remote sensing
  • Probability concepts and error analysis
  • Exposure to industry trends and standards
  • Various real life applications of GIS concepts
  • Fully fledged GIS map integration
